20th Century Ghosts Joe Hill

The short story, "20th Century Ghost", has all the elements I like in a short story: good characterization, an interesting setting and a great story, at once full of a quiet suspense and thoughtfulness. Best New Horror opens with jaded horror editor Eddie Carroll reading a story from an unknown author so good that he can't think of anything else. After I found out that The Cape was actually a short story in Hill's book 20th Century Ghosts, I knew I had to travel down that road with him. Fortunately, Joe made a wonderful love story in 20th Century Ghost. Tonight, I had the pleasure of meeting Joe Hill (ahemyes, THAT Joe Hill), author of the just released 20th CENTURY GHOSTS at his signing at Water Street Bookstore in Exeter, NH. I've read quite a bit by Joe Hill, and I have to say that 20th Century Ghosts is his best work. His previous outings, including Horns, Heart Shaped Box, and the short story collection 20th Century Ghosts, have rightly secured him in the company of today's strongest horror writers. 27th January – 10th February 2013. Excited by my recent discovery of Joe Hill's novel Heart-Shaped Box, I took up his book of short stories, 20th Century Ghosts. Joe Hill - 20th Century Ghosts. There's an art to putting together a short story collection, and most collections just don't quite make it. I didn't love every story in 20th Century Ghosts, but I loved the collection as a whole. Hill is the author of two novels, "Heart-Shaped Box" and "Horns," a collection of short stories called "20th Century Ghosts" and the comic book series, "Locke & Key" for the San Diego-based company IDW Publishing. This second story is the most beautiful story in the book. The stories in this collection are nearly perfect. After I started reading Locke & Key, I realized that Joe Hill is Stephen King's son, and that he also wrote a number of short stories.
